About Us

Our mission: To provide a sandbox for goals and growth through nature and human connection.

We accomplish this by providing a distraction-free, reflective space that operates somewhere between a summer camp, a monastery, and Habitat for Humanity. We welcome of people from all backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, and places. You may find that being here is a bit like traveling without having to go anywhere.

On property, you’ll find 29 acres of wooded hills, a labyrinth, trails, a swimming hole, outdoor showers, a rooftop bathtub, a library, an art porch, instruments, organic gardens, the Lost River itself, and a collection of fascinating humans.

We also host workshops and events related to music, writing, goal setting, yoga, organic gardening, relationship building, cooking, and environmental sustainability. Our Directioneering workshop has been running since 2017 and has helped people make some of their greatest leaps forward in life.

We will also host larger events from time to time from weddings to concerts to festivals to Summer camps.

The Lost River Hostel has been directly influenced by The Hostel in the Forest located in Brunswick, Georgia.  Started in 1975, it has improved the lives of their guests and staff in countless ways, sending people out into the world to make it a better place.  If you're ever near The Hostel in the Forest, we highly recommend a visit.

This could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for to reconnect with yourself. Will you take it?
